A multi-award-winning 81.3-metre superyacht built by Oceanco and originally commissioned by Greek shipping magnate Theodore Angelopoulos, ALFA NERO remains a benchmark in her class almost two decades after launch. Comprehensively refitted in 2024, she is presented today in strong technical and operational condition.

Winner of every major industry prize in 2008, including Best Interior Design and Best Exterior Styling at the World Superyacht Awards, ALFA NERO offers proven charter capability, and a layout suited to both private ownership and commercial use. After a comprehensive 2024 refit, she is presented in her strongest condition since delivery.

Her signature feature is the world’s first superyacht infinity pool, which converts quickly from beach club to deck pool via a spindle-driven mechanism, and from deck pool to helipad: a single design moment that defined a generation of superyacht design.

Questions

About Alfa Nero.

Was Alfa Nero affected by sanctions?
“He’s had a clean bill of title, we’ve had a super successful charter season and he’s used it really well. If anyone thinks we’re selling it because of pressure from Russia or the old family trying to challenge us, far from it. You couldn’t be further from the truth,” says Richard Higgins, the yacht’s broker.
Why is Alfa Nero being sold?
“It’s got nothing to do with the past history, far from it; the owner loves Alfa Nero, it’s just time for him to sell and move on to a bigger boat, nothing else,” says Higgins.
How does Alfa Nero compare in today's market?
“There’s no issue, it’s a strong, Northern European vessel; it’s a super iconic boat. If you look at the market, there’s very little inventory you can buy for €80m at 2,200 GT and 82m,” Higgins says.

The shipyard

Oceanco

Founded in 1987 and based at Alblasserdam, some 20 kilometres from Rotterdam, Oceanco is a Dutch yard devoted to fully custom megayachts in the 80-metre-plus range, its covered dry dock built out in 2010 to accommodate hulls of up to 140 metres. In the classic Dutch manner it typically builds a steel hull beneath an aluminium superstructure, and it works with leading external exterior and interior houses, among them Nuvolari Lenard, Terence Disdale and Sam Sorgiovanni, rather than imposing a single in-house style. Its deliveries include the 81-metre Alfa Nero of 2007, whose low, black-hulled profile was drawn by Nuvolari Lenard, and the 106.7-metre Black Pearl, delivered in 2018 and billed by the yard as the largest DynaRig sailing yacht in the world.
