A 2006 72ft Cheoy Lee Raised Pilothouse in Newport Beach, California.

EASY is the practical, owner-friendly yacht in the portfolio, a 2006 72-foot Cheoy Lee Raised Pilothouse located in Newport Beach, California, with clear West Coast cruising context.

The raised-pilothouse format is the ownership argument: better visibility, a more protected helm, practical separation between navigation and living spaces, and a manageable size for buyers who want proper cruising comfort without superyacht-level complexity.

Cheoy Lee adds depth. The yard traces its shipbuilding roots to the 1870s, moved the family business to Hong Kong in 1936, diversified into teak sailing and motor yachts by the mid-1950s and became an early marine user of GRP and foam-sandwich construction, with current building at its Zhuhai facility. EASY reads as a sensible, credible West Coast yacht backed by a builder with real history.

The shipyard

Cheoy Lee

Founded by the Lo family in Shanghai in 1870 and relocated to Hong Kong in 1936, Cheoy Lee has remained family-run for more than 150 years and is today guided by the fourth and fifth generations. It builds semi-custom motor and explorer yachts in steel, aluminium and composite, or any combination of the three, and sets itself apart among Chinese yards by sourcing components internationally rather than locally. The yard has launched more than 5,200 vessels, some 65 per cent of them over 33 metres, with a heritage in glass-reinforced plastic that produced Shango II in 1977, then the largest moulded-fibreglass yacht of its time. Today all construction takes place at the Hin Lee shipyard in Zhuhai, where the yard builds yachts and superyachts up to around 60 metres.
