The shipyard

Founded in 1958 near Florence and headquartered since 1999 in Ameglia, on the Ligurian coast near La Spezia, Sanlorenzo builds a deliberately limited number of made-to-measure motor yachts and superyachts from roughly 24 to 70 metres across four Italian yards. Under executive chairman Massimo Perotti, who acquired the yard in 2005 and took it public on Milan's Borsa Italiana (STAR segment) in 2019, its range runs from fibreglass-composite planing yachts to aluminium and steel superyachts, with interiors shaped by an in-house design culture and, since 2018, the pared-back hand of art director Piero Lissoni. In Boat International's Global Order Book, Sanlorenzo has for several consecutive years (2020 to 2022) been ranked the world's leading single-brand shipyard for yachts over 24 metres, the class into which its composite models, the 27.6-metre Notynog among them, naturally fall.
